MAY 23   The Friday Nite Band
The Friday Night Dance Band is an old-time band from CallawayVa. Over the years, the band has played at many different venues including jam sessions at Cannaday’s Store in Boones Mill and the Floyd Country Store in Floyd and regular fundraising shows at the Floyd Fire Department.

The band also received a commendation from the 
Virginia General Assembly for their contributions to the community of Redwood and town of Rocky Mount, where they played for benefit dances. Current band members include Dolly Maxey on guitar and vocals, Stan Rowe on bass, guitar, mandalin and vocals. Adam Cecil plays fiddle and vocals, and is a song writer. He joined the band in 2013 and has been featured in numerous publications David Cannaday plays banjo and is the music coordinator at the Floyd Country Store.

 
JUNE 27   Snow Creek Old Tyme Band

The Snow Creek Olde Tyme Band has been together over 20 years, playing in North Carolina and Virginia. The band was started by Jerry George and named after the creek that ran by his house in Stokes County, near Danbury, NC.  Ellis DeHart, Jerry’s neighbor joined the band, followed by Brenda McDaniel, a local banker and her husband Don, a mail carrier. 

The band plays most weekends and sometimes will play two or three times in a day or weekend.  Some of their playing places include: Alleghany Jubilee, Sparta, NC,; Floyd Country Store, Floyd, VA,; O’Henry;s, East Bend, NC,; Horne Creek Farm, Pinnacle, NC,; and Hanging Rock State Park, Danbury, NC.

Band members include: Jerry George- fiddle, claw-hammer, guitar & vocals; Ellis DeHart - claw-hammer, banjo, fiddle; Don McDaniel - Bass & vocals; Brenda McDaniel - guitar, spoons, and vocals.

JULY 18   Keith Campbell
 
 
Keith Campbell, raised in Bedford and a well-known business man and volunteer sings and plays a wide variety popular music covering many genres.  His audio system generates a full range of sound, from memorable melodies to upbeat toe tapping dance tunes.
